What is the interrogation room code?

Enter 3100 at the interrogation room keypad in the basement of the Sheriff's Department in Riverside. Opening this door lets you reach Deputy Roberts and continue investigating Eddie Velvet through a recorded interview. The combination stays the same across saves.

The puzzle connects two discoveries: Badge 0013, recovered from a body in Cold Storage, and a message revealed by the Briefing Room projector. That message tells you to reverse the badge number.

The basement door is also described as the holding cell door in walkthroughs. For this puzzle, those descriptions point to the keypad used to reach the trapped deputy.

If you already have the combination and know where the door is, return to the basement. If you want to follow the clues, the route runs through the office safe, evidence lockup, Cold Storage, and Briefing Room.

Get the crowbar from the evidence lockup

The crowbar allows you to retrieve the badge containing the puzzle's original number. It sits inside the locked evidence area, so your first objective is to obtain the Evidence Lockup Key from the Sheriff's Office safe.

If you have not entered the building yet, its front entrance uses 1715. Once inside, work through these access steps:

  • Collect the Basement Key. Look in the wall lockbox inside the Sheriff's Office. This opens the gate leading into the basement.
  • Find the North Wing Key. Search the key rack in the basement storage area. You need access to the North Wing to reach the Briefing Room and continue exploring the station.
  • Read the office book. The book on the sheriff's desk establishes the safe's sequence through four concepts: bones, spirit, body, and evil.

Each concept corresponds to a numbered artwork elsewhere in the department. The safe requires both the correct numbers and the correct turning directions.

2Counterclockwise to 7SpiritLobby near the entrance
3Clockwise to 3BodyBasement corridor near Cold Storage
4Counterclockwise to 10EvilStone creature relief in the Garden

Photographing these artworks gives you references while exploring. The Safe Manual Page in basement storage explains the dial operation, while the book supplies the order and directions.

Return to the office safe and complete the four turns. Collect the Evidence Lockup Key and the ammunition inside, then travel through Reception and the Garden toward Evidence.

Use the key on the interior evidence gate and pick up the Crowbar leaning against a chair. Be ready for danger when leaving the area: opening the lockup releases the caged dogs outside. With the crowbar collected, you can retrieve the badge that explains the basement keypad.

Find Badge 0013 and reveal the projector message

The two clues answer different questions. The badge tells you which digits matter, while the projector tells you how to arrange them. Finding either one alone leaves part of the puzzle unexplained.

Start with Cold Storage on the lower level. Pull out the corpse tray at the far end of the room and examine the body. A badge is lodged in its mouth.

Use the Crowbar to pry the mouth open and recover the Badge 0013 Memento. Keep all four digits in mind, including the two zeros at the beginning. Those zeros become the final two digits when you reverse the sequence.

Next, collect the License Plate needed for the projector. From the North Wing, pass through the Briefing Room and go outside. Descend the exterior stairs and search the trash to the left in the back alley.

Clue or itemWhere to find itHow it contributes
Badge 0013Body in Cold StorageSupplies the four original digits
License PlateTrash near the exterior stairs behind the stationReveals selected words on the projector
ProjectorBriefing Room in the North WingExplains that the badge number must be reversed

Take the License Plate back to the lit projector in the Briefing Room. Place it over the projected writing and align its openings until they isolate the instruction.

The important words identify a badge, its number, the instruction to reverse it, and the goal of releasing the prisoner. Read together, they tell you to enter the badge number backward.

That gives you:

0013 → 3100

Reverse the complete string of digits. Start with the final digit, 3, then take 1, followed by both zeros. Treating the badge as merely the number thirteen would lose information the four-digit keypad needs.

Once you have connected the badge to the projector message, the solution is complete. There is no additional arithmetic step, date clue, or second number to combine with it. Return to the basement holding area with 3100 ready to enter.

Open the door and follow Roberts's lead

Go back to the locked interrogation room in the basement holding area. Interact with the keypad beside the door and enter 3, 1, 0, 0 in that order.

Deputy Roberts is behind the door. Earlier conversation establishes why opening it matters: he has access to a taped interview involving Eddie Velvet and the sheriff. The recording provides another lead in your search.

After entering, speak with Roberts and interact with the interview tape and nearby playback equipment. Listen to the recording to advance this part of the investigation. The tape concerns Eddie's connection to Alice Baker and events on the mountain.

The recording is the immediate story payoff for solving the keypad. Opening the door does not finish the entire Sheriff's Department sequence, so leave yourself prepared to continue exploring afterward.

Once the tape sequence is over and Roberts leaves, head upstairs and save at a payphone before following him through the red door. That route leads into a boss encounter. Saving here gives you a useful checkpoint after completing the station's linked puzzles.

Troubleshooting the keypad and missing clues

If you are stuck, first identify which part of the chain is missing. Trouble retrieving the badge usually points back to the crowbar, while trouble interpreting the projector points to the License Plate.

ProblemWhat to check
You are standing at the station's front entranceThat keypad takes 1715; 3100 belongs to the basement puzzle
You found the body but cannot retrieve its badgeCollect the Crowbar from the locked evidence area
The evidence gate is lockedOpen the office safe and take the Evidence Lockup Key
The projector text does not reveal a clear instructionPlace and align the License Plate over the projected writing
You entered 0013Reverse all four digits and enter 3100
You cannot reach the basement holding areaCollect the Basement Key from the office wall lockbox

Keep the office safe combination separate from the interrogation code. The safe uses four dial positions with alternating directions; the basement door uses a four-digit keypad. They belong to the same progression route but operate differently.

If you have reached the correct keypad, check the order carefully: three, one, zero, zero. The starting zeros on the badge are easy to overlook, but reversing them places both at the end.

For navigation, collect the station's fire escape plan in the North Wing. It serves as the building map and helps distinguish Briefing, Evidence, Cold Storage, and the basement cells while you move between clues.

FAQ

What is the silver pines interrogation room code?

The code is 3100. Enter it at the keypad in the Sheriff's Department basement holding area to open the door and reach Deputy Roberts.

Does the interrogation room code change between saves?

No. This keypad uses the same combination in every save. Its clue is always based on reversing 0013 into 3100, so you do not need to discover a new value for each playthrough.

Where is the badge used for this puzzle?

Badge 0013 is inside the mouth of a body in Cold Storage. Pull out the corpse tray, inspect the body, and use the Crowbar to retrieve it. The crowbar comes from the evidence lockup.

What does the License Plate do?

The License Plate acts as a mask for the Briefing Room projector. Its openings isolate words that instruct you to reverse the badge number. Collect it from the trash near the exterior stairs behind the station.

Is 1715 another solution to the interrogation door?

No. 1715 opens the Sheriff's Department's front entrance. The interrogation room is a separate basement lock with the code 3100.

What should I do after opening the room?

Speak with Roberts and listen to the recorded interview. After that sequence, save at a payphone before continuing through the red door toward the next confrontation.
